Fire-resistant board: The standard name for fire-resistant board is fire-resistant board. "Fire-resistant board" is just a common term; it doesn't mean it's truly fireproof, but rather that it has certain fire-resistant properties. Fire-resistant boards are made by laminating fire-resistant board as the veneer with particleboard (sometimes MDF) as the base material, then pressing them together in a cabinet factory. Compared to melamine board, fire-resistant board processing is more complicated. Many renovation teams and cabinet factories don't have specialized pressing machines and use makeshift methods, making it difficult to guarantee quality. Fire-resistant board has three layers of veneer, while melamine board only has one layer. Therefore, fire-resistant board generally has better wear resistance, scratch resistance, and high-temperature resistance than melamine board. Fire-resistant boards have vibrant colors, giving a fresh and new look. However, fire-resistant board countertops are easily corroded by water and moisture; improper use can lead to delamination, deformation, and base material swelling.


Melamine board: Melamine board is made by bonding fire-resistant melamine to the surface of particleboard or MDF. Extended varieties often have metal edging. Similar to fireproof boards, it possesses properties such as abrasion resistance, impact resistance, high-temperature resistance, and resistance to hot acids and alkalis. Fire-resistant boards come in various colors and textures mimicking natural materials, but lack three-dimensional shapes. Adding metal edging and aluminum alloy grooved handles only enhances its decorative appeal; practically, they offer little benefit.

 

Painted board: Painted boards are divided into baked enamel and polyester enamel types. Baked enamel is composed of resin and additives and can be sanded and polished. Polyester enamel uses a spray painting process, requiring no baking, and has a matte finish that doesn't require polishing. Its strength lies in its durability and adhesion. Good polyester enamel peels off in powder form, while ordinary enamel peels off in sheets.

 

Solid wood board: Solid wood boards are divided into pure solid wood boards, engineered wood boards, and veneer boards. Solid wood boards require high consistency in wood species, resulting in a natural, luxurious, and classic appearance with excellent aesthetics. Solid wood composite boards use spliced ​​solid wood as the base material, with a solid wood veneer applied to the surface, achieving the visual effect of solid wood. Solid wood veneer boards are made by applying two layers of solid wood veneer to the surface of MDF (medium-density fiberboard). Solid wood composite boards and solid wood veneer boards avoid color differences and defects in the surface raw materials, achieving a consistent texture and color effect, and are less prone to deformation.

 

PVC boards: Different manufacturers use different materials, resulting in inconsistent quality.

 

Crystal boards: Crystal boards are made by painting the surface of the board and then applying an acrylic sheet. Because the application, edge sealing, and trimming processes are entirely manual, and due to the inherent properties of acrylic glass, they have several drawbacks. Crystal boards have poor wear resistance, scratch resistance, and flame retardancy, and lack compressive strength.

 

Plastic border panels: Plastic border panels are made by attaching plastic decorative pieces to the surface of a substrate. This material is mostly done by hand. It looks very beautiful when it is first made, with rich colors and hues. However, it is prone to deformation, peeling, twisting, fading, and has many hard-to-clean corners over time.
