Armchair
A general term for chairs with armrests and backs, excluding round-backed chairs and folding chairs. Their styles and decorations range from simple to complex. They are often paired with coffee tables, arranged symmetrically with four chairs and two tables on either side of the main room.
Massage Chair
A massage chair works by mimicking manual massage, but uses mechanical rolling and squeezing to provide the massage. Massage chairs can follow the curves of the body along the spine using various techniques such as rocking, acupressure, kneading, and rubbing for deep massage. When a person sits in a massage chair and enjoys full-body relaxation, it feels as if someone is gently massaging their back and shoulders.
Swivel Chair
The upper part of the swivel chair is not much different from that of a regular chair, except that it has a swivel joint called a "single-legged armrest" under the seat, allowing the user to rotate freely left and right. Swivel chairs are relatively recent, representing one of the earliest types of chairs in Chinese furniture to incorporate foreign styles.
Round-back Chair
The round-back chair evolved from the folding chair. Its most distinctive feature is the circular backrest connected to the armrests, flowing smoothly from high to low. When seated, the user's arms can rest comfortably on the circular armrests, making it very popular.
Recliner
The recliner is one of the furniture pieces that emerged in the Qing Dynasty, showcasing new styles and functions. During the late feudal period in China, craftsmanship and techniques improved, and people placed greater emphasis on quality of life. Household items became increasingly categorized, and furniture such as the recliner was produced accordingly.
Backrest Chair
A chair without armrests is called a backrest chair. Due to variations in the backrest and headrest, backrest chairs often have many styles and different names.
